The INCITE team from JRC B5 participated on December 1st, 2025, in a major Brussels event alongside over 100 representatives from energy-intensive industries (EIIs). Together with DG RTD C7, we presented draft factsheets and case studies on the decarbonisation of EIIs, gathering direct feedback from industry stakeholders.
These factsheets, developed in collaboration with our colleagues in Petten and DG RTD in Brussels, aim to map technologies that can support EIIs in their transition towards climate neutrality. The insights collected will help industries develop and refine their decarbonisation roadmaps, assist EU Member States in implementing their National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs), which outline how each country intends to meet EU climate and energy targets, and guide the European Commission in targeting support for demonstration and deployment of key technologies.
The discussions with industry representatives were highly constructive, providing crucial input that will be incorporated as we finalise the factsheets, expected to be published early next year. INCITE is proud to contribute to this collaborative effort, working alongside colleagues across the JRC and DG Research & Innovation to support evidence-based EU industrial policy and a sustainable transition for Europe’s most energy-intensive sectors.
